The most Famous Optical Illusion of our Time;
Below left is the so called face on mars NASA photo.
On July 25 1976, the Viking Orbiter 1 photographed the Cydonia region of Mars to find potential landing spots for the Viking Lander 2. One of the photographed rock formations resembled a face. While NASA stated that this was just a random play of light and shadow.,
Many alien belief systems jumped on this photo as proof of ETs. They instantly assumed that mars, was once inhabited by aliens who built massive structures and cities. Entire Books where published about the Cydonia face photo.
Soon though the alien believing communities where to be stunned at the next chapter in NASA Exploration.
Mars Global Surveyor acquired a high-resolution 4.4 km x 41.5 km swath of the
Cydonia Mense region of Mars, including the feature known as the "Face on Mars"
(located at approximately 40.8 N, 9.6 W) on Sunday morning (5 April 1998).
This Photo was much Closer and in greater detail revealing the truth.
The face on mars was just a Optical Illusion.
Just like NASA told us., "A play on light and shadows" taken from a deceiving distance and view point perspective.
